Reflecting on the hugely varying budget sizes, the judges have awarded two exhibitions.
The first of our joint winners, Rebuilding Lives: 50 Years of Ugandan Asians in Leicester, is an impressive community-led exhibition with strong contemporary relevance and first-hand accounts at its core. The judges were impressed by its reach, and impact all of which was achieved on a very modest budget.
And for Joint Winner, English Heritage, the judges were impressed by this bold and ambitious installation, which is a creative and surprising response to its locality which successfully brings its local community together which at its end was given back to the hundreds of people involved in its creation.
